From the desk of Roch
I’m Roch Bordenave. Voice Artist. On the surface, you’d think my business to be a lonely one; rustling about here in my home studio with literally no other warm bodies lurking about. But that’s “literally”. Virtually, there’s a vast world of cool humans I work with on a daily basis. Whether connecting via email, ISDN, phone, text, Skype or Facetime...they’re out there; the professionals I have the fine fortune of working with day in and day out.
I am part of a team. Their team.
Ideas born from the minds of writers and producers; phone conversations about execution and storyboards; live-session-direction ensuring the correct intensity and inflection; production houses acting as liaisons between talent and commercial agents; and of course, the producer’s magical touch, bringing it all together for broadcast.
0900 EST. An email arrives in my inbox. Sent from the BlackBerry of a copywriter at a StarCack’s in Colorado Springs. The email contains copy for a TV commercial about saving Black Bears in the Carolinas. They’re requesting a session today at 1500 EST. I will fire up the box and jump into the booth (clad only in a bathing suit from a recent dip in the pool). At the arranged time I’ll be joined - via ISDN - on the phone by the writers in Atlanta. The session will be recorded live. It will be edited, fully produced and shipped by 1700 MST. The spot will air on the following day’s Evening News in that region.
This is my world. I am truly blessed to be a part of it.
Need a VO? I’m here for ya’. Part of your team.
Roch With It.
